Our “Pay As You Go” Website Management Service

Although content management systems enable you to make simple changes and be self sufficient on a day to day basis, in practice editing content and managing marketing campaigns is not everyone’s field of expertise – and everyone employed by the business is probably already overly busy doing what they currently do.

As a result, we provide a pay as you go support service to help our clients manage their website updates, marketing campaigns and general website improvements.

Rather like utilising a cleaner, joiner or gardener, we do the jobs that need doing and charge for our time on a pay as you go basis, chargeable in half hourly increments (currently starting from £50 plus VAT per hour). The idea is to make it easier for you to keep on top of your website related activities, leaving you free to focus on running your business.

Website technology and customer expectations are always evolving, but the fundamentals remain the same. The primary functions of any website are for it to be easy for potential customers to find using relevant search terms, and to represent your business professionally, so it builds instant customer confidence and gives them everything they need in order to do business with you.

Customer reassurance is essential all the way through the process of using a website, and if you’re not able to give it to them in person, your website needs to do this for you.

The four main areas our pay as you go service will be of benefit to you are:

1) Simple Website Updates

Whilst we can train you to do the simple things that you want to do regularly, in practice very few people have the time, desire or patience to resize and crop images, add captions and format text neatly, or to add new pages and move content around as a website evolves – in effect to spend the extra time required to finish the job so it always looks neat and tidy and represents your business professionally.

You simply let us know what needs doing and we’ll either just get on with it and invoice you for the time incurred, or send you a quote. Since we manage websites for a living, we’ll be faster yet more thorough than if you were to do it in-house – and it is more economic than training new staff.

2) Website Restructuring and General Improvements

In addition to doing simple updates for you when required, we also regularly make suggestions that will improve your website generally and will action them for you on our pay as go basis.

Improvements can be made all in one go, or gradually. For example, it might only take a few hours to restructure a website so it is mobile friendly, has initial impact, is easy to navigate and contains well written content that highlights the benefits of doing business with you.

We make sure content is presented professionally, with resized/cropped images where necessary. We include strong calls to action so customers know what to do next, and ensure that your top level pages are optimised for relevant searches on Google.

3) Site Marketing

In addition to editing content, we can also help you to get more visitors to your website. It doesn’t matter how good your website is if someone who’s interested in doing business with you can’t find you using relevant, key words in a search engine. It’s even worse if they ARE able to find your competitors and not you.

Whilst we optimise your top level web pages for Google as part of the website setup/restructuring service, this is only half the story. You may not fully appreciate just what you could be achieving from a simple, low cost pay per click advertising campaign via media like Google Ads or Facebook.

Nearly every business would get more enquiries and customers if they did so, and you don’t need a big advertising budget to start seeing genuine results.

There’s no minimum commitment and campaigns can be paused or amended at any time. When you’re ready to take the plunge, we make sure you understand what you are investing in and how it works.

Although you want more visitors, there’s no point in using resources to drive more visitors to a website unless it gives customers what they need. Before we undertake any marketing campaign we go through your website to make sure it is doing everything that it needs to do to build customer confidence and generate enquiries/business. The idea is to make sure any holes in the bucket are fixed before you fill it with water!

4) Ongoing Support

We also recognise that most business owners don’t really have anyone to bounce IT and website related ideas off, or to get sound advice and solutions from on a wide variety of things relating to the Internet, including domains, mailboxes, data backup, newsletters, social media, other marketing opportunities, customer inter-action, and general IT related queries.

We pride ourselves on our support and encourage you to treat us as you own “virtual admin assistant” on any matters relating to the Internet. We de-mystify the process and focus on key fundamentals that we know make a difference and produce results.

We’re also aware that we are judged by results – if the work we do for you contributes towards the growth of your business, you’ll stay as a client forever and perhaps even tell others about us too. We have a vested interest in your success.

In Conclusion

We believe that far too many businesses settle for just “having” a website, when it should be the focal point of your activities. It should not only generates sales, but also save you admin time and printing/postage costs.

It is essential to ensure the key fundamentals are in place and that the good habits we put in place are maintained. A few hours here and there really does make a difference.

We are always available to provide advice and/or have a “no obligation” chat about your website, marketing and your business generally. The more we understand about your market and your potential customers, the more we can help.
