On one hand we can just be a "passive" web host. The content management system enables you to be as self sufficient as you want to be, whilst knowing you have access to us whenever you need advice and practical support. On the other, we can be more "proactive" and can work more closely with you on an ongoing basis to really help you to get the best out of your website and use of the Internet generally.
In addition to our standard website hosting service, we also provide the option of a more hands on website management service, including adding/editing content, tidying up behind you and introducing new features.
The days of setting up a website and then just letting it do its stuff have - generally speaking - long gone. You do have to work harder at it. It is very competitive.
We'll help you every step of the way. We provide objective advice, practical help, support and co-management services. You have access to our vast knowledgebase and experience. We look after over 400 different sized businesses, operating in diverse markets all over the world, so whatever it is you want to do we'll probably have done it - or something similar - for another client of ours.
Our view is that your website should ALWAYS be the very best it can be - an up to date statement of your operation as it stands today and every day. Your website is the public face and focal point of your business. You want to be proud to direct people to it. It represent you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in every country in the world. First impressions are vital. If it was a real person, you'd insist that they were dressed smartly, knew their stuff, were able to convey information about your products or services eloquently, and were either able to "close the deal" themselves or to direct them to whoever they needed to speak to. If you had to pay a bit extra to find this kind of person, no doubt you'd do so - especially if they never fell ill or needed holidays either!
We can assume responsibility for editing all - or some - of your content for you and making sure it is always presented to the highest standard. Your team would just send info through to us with instructions. If we have any queries, we report back. In short, we do whatever makes life easiest for you. You simply treat us as your bureau style web department.
For basic changes and support services our rates are £40 plus VAT per hour and for higher spec design services we charge £60 plus VAT per hour.
In our experience, even with a reliable web platform and an easy to use content management system, you still need access to knowledgeable people for ongoing support, training, objective advice and general help whenever required.
Even if you personally don't feel comfortable with doing web related stuff, your competitors are, and so (more importantly) are your customers. You might have the best products/services, but you won't get the chance to get the business if you can't be found or if your competitors are doing things better online than you are. Customers also expect a certain level of information and service if they are to feel confident about doing business with you.
Whilst it is incredibly easy to add and edit content using the powerful and intuitive content management system that drives your website, we realise that (a) responsive, mobile friendly web design technology is constantly advancing and improving, and (b) an increasing number of our clients would like to be able to "freshen up" and generally enhance/improve the look of their websites on a reasonably regular basis (be it once or twice a year or even just every couple of years) without necessarily having to go to the extreme of building a brand new website, with all the inherent costs involved.
Whilst you are - generally speaking - self sufficient on a day to day basis, we also recognise that at times you might just want someone to go through your site and "tidy up" after you; be it to resize or crop images, improve how content is presented generally and/or to check your site is optimised properly for Google and other search engines. This kind of attention to detail is often the difference between a website doing "quite well" and doing "very well".
We try and find a balance between dealing with our larger clients and our smaller operations and ensure we are always on hand to provide objective advice, practical help and ongoing support "on tap" whenever required.
