We specialise in helping golf clubs to either establish their first website, or to improve an existing website that's not performing to its true potential.
The action we suggest won't cost much and you'll be set for the future. We don't cut any corners, but we do adhere to 7 key fundamentals that are designed to ensure your website achieves its initial objectives and fulfils its potential.
1) You need to own your own domain name and use the email addresses associated with your domain.
2) You need a responsive, mobile friendly website - this is essential with over half the world's internet users browsing via mobile devices.
3) You need to host it on a reliable, centrally maintained cloud hosted web platform so that all upgrades and new feature integration are handled for you.
4) You need an easy to use content management system so you can update it yourself as often as you want to.
5) Your content needs to be well written and neatly presented with a strong call to action - and updated on a regular basis.
6) Your pages need to be properly optimised for Google and other search engines.
7) You need access to ongoing support and training on a bureau style basis from experienced people who understand your business.
We will supply a responsive, mobile friendly website for you, utilising your chosen livery, colours and logo. We'll host the website on our cloud hosted website platform with it's easy to use content management system. We'll add a site structure and content (with improvements where required), and will optimise your pages properly for search engines. We also include integration with your current handicap software supplier or tee time booking system via embedded code or linking.
We will then show you how to manage your own content in bit sized chunks over the phone and by email, and provide ongoing support and training as required. It's really simple and you can do it from anywhere.
We have already performed this same "operation" for over 300 other businesses - including numerous golf unions and clubs. A responsive website is a must for any golf club. We'll handle it all for you. You'll be set for the future, and it won't break the bank.
You don't need an overly elaborate design - honestly! It just needs to look professional so it builds confidence in your "brand" from the word go, and to be responsive so it looks great on desktops, tablets and smartphones. No one buys from an amateurish looking website with out of date and poorly conceived content.
There are two options:
It would cost £350 plus VAT to create a responsive, mobile friendly design, add the navigation structure, and migrate/upload up to 10 pages of content for you into our web platform. We'll then train and monitor as you learn to add pages and edit content yourself using the easy to use content management system.
If you are also looking for something more than this kind of simple surgery, and want to develop a more bespoke design or have a larger site and would like us to upload all your content for you, it would cost more but we can discuss this.
Your website will be hosted using the award winning LightCMS cloud hosted web platform which includes:
Ultimately our hosting costs depend on how much involvement you need from us to help you to manage your online affairs. We recognise that some businesses want to be left (comparatively) alone, whilst others require a more hands on strategic partner. Others want something in between the two.
We provide a basic web hosting and support service that provides technical assistance for platform related support issues. You get EVERYTHING on our web platform for just £29 plus VAT pm (or £295 plus VAT pa).
The other option is that we build in a degree of time for extra support, discussion, consultancy, ongoing training and practical assistance throughout the year. This costs from £500 pa plus VAT, but most smaller businesses only need the basic option above.
A responsive, mobile friendly website that you can manage yourself is now essential. No one can afford to be "invisible" to over half their potential clients.
We have a vested interest in making your website successful and profitable. Happy clients not only pay us to look after them, they introduce others too!
We will handle the entire process for you, and involve you as much as you want. It should take about a week to complete. You only pay when the new site is ready, at which time, you (or we on your behalf) access your domain's control panel and change your domain's A Records to our web IP number (if we host your email, we'll also amend your MX Records to our mail IP number). It can take a few hours to propagate, but then your new responsive website will be "live".
Within a month or so, you should notice that you are getting more visitors. They'll stay on the site for longer and they'll return more often and will refer your site to others. If you adhere to the fundamentals of establishing a successful website, that's just what happens!
If you start to use the website's intranet to share information securely and privately with suppliers or customers (ie "members") you'll also start to reduce admin time and printing/postage costs too. If it's not relevant to you, don't worry - but it's there if you need it.
Feel free to browse our knowledgebase at www.web-marketing.co.uk which covers every aspect of establishing a successful website in some detail, and see some of the hundreds of sites we produce and host (they are all responsive, so look at them on your desktop computer AND smartphone to see the difference).
If you'd like to progress this or discuss your website and its objectives in more detail, please contact us on 01526 352919, or complete our online order form and we'll get back to you by return.
When we started looking after the English Golf Union's (as they were then!) website in the 1990's, one of the big things we tried to get across to clubs was the importance of registering a domain, using the email and web addresses associated with it, and setting up a professional looking website that gave visitors and members up to date information.
With over 50% of the world now accessing the Internet via tablets and smart phones, it's also now essential that you (a) are able to access your mail from anywhere using any device, and (b) that your website not only looks good on a desktop computer, but adapts responsively to mobiles too.
