Do you realise that if your website isn't responsive and mobile friendly, over 50% of your potential customers can't view your website properly?
Or that if your website isn't properly optimised for Google and other search engines, you won't get the amount of visitors you should be getting?
Or that even when visitors do land on your website, you could be doing more to get them to actually engage with you?
A good website is now more important for your golf club than anyone ever dreamed it would ever be a few years ago! First impressions are vital. A modern, clean looking, easy to navigate website containing up to date information builds confidence in your "product". It automatically conveys the impression that your course is in great condition with well manicured greens, and the promise of a friendly welcome with great facilities and high standards of catering. A poor website conveys the exact opposite. It just does!
If set up and managed correctly, it should pay for itself many times over by generating revenue from visitors (be it random fourballs, societies or corporate golf days), new members (via application forms), open events (entry forms), and even use of the club's facilities for special events such as weddings or business seminars. In addition to being your most important marketing tool, it should also save you admin time, printing and postage by providing up to date, easy accessible information that both visitors and members need.
Your current website will never do more for you than it is currently doing. And it will probably start to do less.
The most important things that really affect you at this moment in time are:
1) The huge growth in mobile browsing, and making sure your website is responsive and mobile friendly.
Your website needs to be responsive* and mobile friendly for all types of device or browser. Over half the world's Internet users now browse the web using a mobile rather than a desktop computer, and this figure is rising all the time, and your current website is almost unusable on a modern smartphone. In short, over 50% of your potential customers can't view your current website properly, and may end up going to a competitor's website that is mobile friendly.
* A responsive, mobile friendly site is designed in such a way that it "knows" what type of device [ie desktop computer, tablet or smartphone] it is being viewed by, and automatically delivers a version of the site optimised for that particular device [for example by putting the navigation as a list underneath the page content on a mobile, whilst being across the top in conventional style for a desktop computer].
2) Getting more visitors to your website.
Making the website responsive will help immediately, as from the word go over 50% more people will actually be able to view your website properly! In addition, we really ought to go through your entire website content and amend, tweak and edit your page titles, descriptions and page content to make it "read better" for search engines, and specifically for Google. There is a natural link to this and (3) below as it's not just about making sure the right words are used in the right places. Google also likes well written content and uses this as a significant part of its ranking process.
3) How your content is presented and whether you are giving visitors to your website everything they need in order to do "business" with you.
When a visitor lands on your site, they expect your content to be neatly presented and to read well too. It builds confidence in your operation from the word go. This is your chance to engage them and in addition to telling them about your course and facilities, you should also include any additional benefits and be clear as to what action you now want them to take (ie call you or complete a form). It's also important to add new content on a regular basis too, and adding news, FAQs, and other useful information and data that enable you to save admin time and reduce printing and postage costs, encourages people to return more frequently, and they then tell others. That's why an easy to use content management system is essential.
These points are easily addressed though. Within a few weeks you could have a great looking responsive, mobile friendly website, that you can edit yourself without any technical knowledge or specialist software. We deliver your site in your club colours with pre-populated pages, and host it for you on our robust cloud hosted web platform which includes the easiest to use content management available on the Internet. It includes e-commerce, a secure intranet (ideal for password protected members areas), unlimited pages, users, products and data storage all as standard. And you have ongoing access to our "bureau style" training and support service via phone and email.

We can either just host your website as above, or we can also host your domain (£25 plus VAT pa) and mailboxes (£30 plus VAT pa each) too.
